Saturday Snow Fun

Laurel likes her mittens.  One day she insisted on wearing them for nap time.
Laurel really loves to be outside, no matter what the weather.  Lately, though, it has been really, really cold here.  As in, temp of 0 degrees with a windchill of -30 degrees.  And 35 mph winds.  And no snow.  So we've been spending a lot of time inside.  Last night it snowed about 2 inches...not enough to break out the new snow blower, so Scott just shoveled the concrete part of our driveway.  We decided it was 20 degrees, so warm enough to let Laurel go outside and play for a little while.
Cheese!

Laurel stood at the edge of the driveway and Scott would throw the shovel of snow on her feet.

Laurel is helping me fill up the bird feeder.

She may have dumped as much on the ground as she put into the feeder.

Laurel didn't want to put on her mittens after filling the bird feeder, and by the time they were done hanging it up, she was pretty upset about something!  We're not sure if her hands were cold, or she didn't want to leave the bird feeder out there, or if she was mad that we were going in, but she was not very happy!
After we got ready, we made a trip to Hy-Vee to do some grocery shopping.  We were low on grocery money by the end of last month, so for the last week I've been making meals that don't require things like cheese, ketchup, spaghetti sauce, and a few other "mainstay" ingredients.  And since Scott worked at home all week, we ate a lot of the stockpile of leftovers in the freezer.  It was good to get groceries, and even better that it was Super Bowl Sample day at Hy-Vee!
