Weekend Update

Last weekend Scott and Jacob put up the shelf in the baby's room, and now I think it is completed and ready for a baby!  Or as ready as we can be.
They did a great job making sure it was level.  The only "hiccup" was having to make a second trip to the store to get the right length of screws.  Good thing it's not a long trip!  They also got some screws to use to hang up the pictures of baby animals on the wall, and those no longer fall off every time we shut the door.  Thanks, guys!  What was I doing this whole time?  Resting on the couch!

I put my Valentine's Day gift from Scott on the shelf, so it wasn't so empty.  You may notice we don't have any clothes on the bar.  A couple reasons: 1) we don't have any little hangers, and 2) we don't have any hang-up clothes because we don't know the gender of the baby.  I'm sure it will fill up eventually.
This past weekend was the first weekend of Jr. Regionals Volleyball tournaments for me.  This is our busiest time of year at work, but fortunately this year we "hired out" a lot of the Regionals work so that we were not in the office 60+ hours a week and all weekend for weeks.  Last week I was in the office on Wed., Thurs., Fri., and worked all Sat. and Sun.  Friday I even ended up helping to set up volleyball nets at the Iowa Events Center (just putting up nets and pads), then did check-in for HP tryouts, then ran around like a crazy person getting stuff ready to send to our SE Polk sites, and finally Michelle sent me to the hotel shortly after 10pm.  Saturday morning I had to be at my site at 6:30am, and had to run back and forth between the Jr. High and the 6th grade building (my site) getting the ticket scanners set up, getting laptops set up and running, and training workers how to use the things.  And of course people started coming in right at 7am!  I was able to do a lot of sitting throughout the day also.  Sunday was less busy, but still, I was sitting at the gym running a tournament all day.  Some parents yelled at me about things, as always, but most were pleasant.  By Sunday evening I was feeling some "twinges."  Early contractions, or just my body telling me that I'm too pregnant to work that much?  We'll see if I make it through this week to work next weekend!

This morning I slept in a little bet, and plan to relax most of the day.  I stepped out the front door to enjoy the absolutely beautiful spring weather, and saw this in my garden.
I bought this at the end of the season last year for 10 cents and put it in the garden.  At that time it had no flowers, was droopy, and was immediately eaten by rabbits.  I love how a little patience and care leads to beautiful spring flowers!
