Platt Family Visitors

Last week we pushed outself hard to get the baby room as done as possible.  By Friday afternoon we had all the paint done, and moved all the furniture that has been sitting in the living room into the baby's room.  Our living room now looks huge!

This crib was used by all 6 of my sister's children, I believe.  Does that make it a family heirloom?

 You may notice that we still have lovely rose colored blinds on the windows.  We put them back up for lack of anything else right now.  We will likely get some sort of blind or window covering that matches the room in the future, but we're just living with the pink for now.

After finishing the baby's room, Scott proceeded to steam vacuum pretty much every remaining bit of carpet in the house.  Meanwhile, I collapsed on the sofa in exhaustion, barely even able to move my finger enough to change the tv station.  Ah, the life of a pregnant person.

The reason we really wanted to get the done and the furniture out of the living room was because we were having Platt family visitor's on Saturday!  Scott's Mom drove out from Western Iowa with Melanie and her boyfriend Nate, and Scott's brother Shawn drove out from Iowa City with his wife Audrey and their sons, Wesley and Seth.  We have not had a lot of family visitor's to our house, and none of them have seen most of the updates we've made in the house, so it was exciting to have them here!

We finally had a chance to give the boys their Christmas presents.  Wesley got an itunes gift card...

...and Seth got a nifty head lamp.  Christmas in February! 

I also got to open a couple more baby gifts--since the snowy weather prevented them from coming to the baby shower.

After a delicious taco lunch, we crowded around the table and play Apples to Apples.
