Scavenger Hunt

Scott was out of town most of last week for work, and we missed him!  We didn't have any plans for today, except for watching the Iowa Hawkeyes beat Penn State in football (Sorry, Lindsay).  I decided to make the day a little more fun by setting up a clue following scavenger hunt for Scott to follow.  Unfortunately, I kinda set it up thinking that today's game would be an 11am or 1pm game, and it's actually on at 7pm, so the clue-following was early!  No worries, it allows us to watch the William Penn football game on our local cable station this afternoon.

I started with a card that led Scott out to the shed.  There he found a clue written in "mirror" language.
Here Scott is holding it up to the mirror.  I used an online tool to do this...it did make all the words backwards so that when you held it up to the mirror you could read it.  However, it also turned the letters around, so even held up to the mirror some of the letters faced the wrong way.
That clue led him to look among all the clean diapers in the baby's room, where he found this:
I had emailed the next clue to Scott's Mom last night, so he called her and she gave him the next one.
Clue #4 led Scott to look in one of my Harry Potter Books, where he found this clue leading him to a Bible verse.
The clue leading to the Bible and the verse itself were both a little "obscure," so I had to give Scott a few hints.
The Bible verse led Scott to find a clue among all our water bottles in the cupboard.  That one had him text a picture to me of a spoon, a red marker, and a paper clip.  Then I handed him the next clue.

This clue was a maze, and you had to follow it to figure out what the clue was.  It led him to a clue hiding in the case of the movie "The Man From Snowy River."  That was tricky...we don't have it on DVD, so he had to search out the VHS in the closet!
That clue led him to some music books by Mozart, where he found the final clue: Time for Some Hawkeye Football!  I have lil' smokies and a taco dip for supper, some crunch n' munch, and we'll sit by the tv.
Go Hawkeyes!

Yes, you too can get a ticket to watch football at the Platt House.
