Laurel can write her name

Laurel is a talented kid, but I've found that she doesn't like to try doing things that she isn't already good at (she might get that from her mother...).  She recognizes most letters on sight and can tell me what sound they make, but has not been very interested in trying to write them.  I printed off some letter tracing sheets for the letters in her name, and once she realized that "practice writing your name" was one of the chores on her chore chart, she was willing to kinda trace the letters.  But she would never even try to draw them herself.

Then this past week while the kids were coloring, she said she was going to write her name--and she did!  I think she wrote her name 25 times in the coloring book.  Great job, Laurel!
