Snow!

If you live anywhere in the Midwest, you are probably in the same (or worse!) situation we are in...you were hit by a blizzard this week!  We got a little snow yesterday morning, and then last might it started snowing more, blowing 45 mph, and the temp was in the single digits with wind chills of -20!  I planned to work at home yesterday and today, and Scott did as well, so we were safe in our cozy house.  Today, we got to shovel our cars out.

The view from our front door.  Actually, there was about 10 feet of clear sidewalk by our front door, and then this 2+ foot drift!

This was the pile the plow left by our cars after the first trip.  It is just barely up to the bottom of the cars.  However, this picture was taken before the plows went through today, and after their second round, the snow was piled up to the TOP of the tires!

This is the intersection this morning, before the plows finished.

It was so windy last night that every window on this side of the house has a layer of snow between the screen and the window.

The snow is mid-thigh on Scott.  There was an interesting icicle from the hot air vent--you can see that just the edge of the icicle is actually stuck to the pipe, and the "top" of the icicle sticks out a couple inches from the end.

This is the pile of snow after we cleared out the snow around our cars!

The hydrangeas still look nice.
