Back Home

We left for home on Thursday, and decided after we left to drive straight through...16.5 hours later, we got home, at about 1:30am!  We slept in on Friday morning, then drove to Des Moines to return the rental car, and to shop for a new grill.

It took us about 45 minutes to put together the grill.

And here we are, trying it out!  Sweet potatoes, pork steak, pork chops, and pork and beans....Hmmmm, very porky.  And no, we didn't eat all of this in one meal.

Yesterday driving home from Des Moines, it was sunny where I was, but I was driving toward a dark and forboding storm.  The contrast was so striking, I took a number of pictures from my car, hoping to catch a good shot of it.

This weekend it is Tulip Time in Pella.  I love this time, and would happily go to every parade every day...but I have to work.  Scott and I are planning to go on Saturday.  But on Wednesday (the day before Tulip Time begins), my office took a "staff field trip" to Pella.
These were the biggest and orangest tulips I have ever seen.  The flowers were about the size of two fists.

  1. In the first picture, it looks like Scott is hanging upside down from the ceiling. No wander it took so long to put the grill together. :)
