Paint is (almost) Done

Scott's Mom, his brother (along with his wife and two sons), and Melanie (along with her boyfriend) are coming to visit us here this Saturday.  We don't often have a lot of house guests, so we are excited to have them!  It is also a good impetus to get the baby's room painted and finished...so we can get all the baby furniture out of the living room and will actually have room for guests.

We did two coats of primer on the walls.  Since we are also painting the trim, it went up pretty quickly because we didn't have to be neat.  Scott took a number of pictures of me painting...from the rear.  Did my butt look that big before I was pregnant?  Yikes!
I was a good girl and wore a mask while painting...most of the time.

Since we are doing two colors, and want the stripe to be level, I taped the walls.  I am a very precise painter, and usually don't tape any edges--I can do a better job just taking my time on the edges with no tape!  Anyway, whoever invented the little level device with a built in laser beam deserves a medal of honor.  I single handedly taped the walls, and the laser beam even bounces around corners, so I know it's even all the way around the room.  And believe me, not all the base board trim or window trip is even or level!

Two coats of brown finished.

And two coats of the green added.

We painted the trim a light beige/cream.  We did most of the trim last night, but I did the second coat of green today, so we didn't quite finish all the edges of the trim.  I will be going through with my paintbrush to get all of those soon.
Often when you pick out paint and put the colors on the wall, you think, "That wasn't exactly what I envisioned, but it will do."  Not this time--this is EXACTLY the colors I saw in my mind, and I love them!  We did a good job picking out the paint...do you think Scott will let me paint every room in the house these colors?

We are going to steam clean the carpet now (and we have fixed the steam vacuum, so it will be much quicker this time), then move some furniture into there.  We probably won't arrange all the furniture, since we have yet to get the crib from my sister, but at least we can get it out of the living room.

In other exciting news, the car seat finally arrived, so we will now be allowed to take the baby home from the hospital with us! Yay!  I am still healthy, but have had full body shakes for a few days, so I get to go in for a fasting blood glucose test tomorrow.  Not sure if my blood sugar is not regulating itself well or what...please don't make me give up bread or sweets!  :)
