Thanksgiving 2012

This year on Thanksgiving Day we went to my parent's house to celebrate with the Evenhouse side of the family.  The Cutlers went to Colorado this year, so it was much quieter than usual without those 6 kids running around!  Scott had been sick with the flu for about a week, and still wasn't feeling great, so he sat in the "Quarantine Corner" for most of the day.  Laurel and I started getting sick that day, and Laurel especially had a bit of a temp and was pretty tired.  But, we still managed to eat delicious food and have a good time.

I did not have time to make an apple pie (Dad's dessert of choice), and our friend Jake was joining us, so we asked him to bring one.  The highlight of the day was opening the pie from the store, cutting into it...and discovering that it was moldy under the top crust!  Yuck!  Poor Dad didn't get any dessert.
Mom found Carrie's 4th grade soccer pin somewhere in the house, and Tim proudly wore it all day.  Mom has my 9th grade volleyball pin lying around somewhere, but Scott NEVER proudly wears it.  What's up with that?

Oren sleeps a lot and doesn't cry much.  Cutie pie!

Kendall enjoyed being the older cousin there.

We have a tradition of just putting babies into Jake's arms...he gets all nervous and doesn't quite know what to do.  He sat there holding Oren like this, then told us his arm was falling asleep, because he was too afraid to move to a more comfortable position.  Someday, Crisco, you will have a child of your own!

This is what Laurel and Scott did most of the day.

Laurel wanted to be by me or Scott all day.  Kendall did try to comfort her...can you tell it's not working?

Kendall loves her baby brother Oren.
