In the past two weeks we have written a check for a new roof, and then written a check for a new vehicle. We had saved up money so we could just pay for both things outright, but still, seeing that much money come out of the checking account in one week is difficult!
Last Friday we did a little car shopping. We had spend the night in Iowa City, and Audrey said she would watch the kids while we did some test driving. We had talked about what kind of car we wanted, and finally settled on a minivan. This was a hard thing to settle for, but we wanted enough room for passengers in addition to our two children who are both in carseats. And SUVs and Crossovers are just not that big inside, hard to get into the back seat around the car seats, more expensive, and don't get as good mileage. So we went with a minivan.
We found a couple we liked in Iowa City, but were just not ready to commit at that time. We had seen a couple online that were available in Ottumwa, so we drove straight there from Iowa City. After a test drive and some deliberating, we decided to purchase this 2010 Chrysler Town & Country. I loaded in the car seats this afternoon, and look forward to driving it to Pella tomorrow for the first time!
