Melanie came to visit last weekend to meet her new baby sister. We took the opportunity on Sunday afternoon to take some family photos on the square. We didn't plan to match all our outfits, but we coordinated very nicely!
I haven't had to do much cooking since I had Laurel, thanks to generous people that brought us meals. It's hard to cook a meal because Laurel always seems to want to eat right in the middle of cooking. Once we get a routine going, I can plan ahead a little better and start making meals on a regular basis again.

One way to get some cooking done is to put Laurel into her sling (where she falls asleep quickly). Here I am cooking eggs! It is a little difficult to cook, however, because I have to stand sideways in order to see the pan in front of me past the baby.

This weekend it was my birthday on Friday, April 27. I am now 34 years old, and have started going to bed before 10pm...although that is a result of having a newborn, not my old age. Scott doesn't work on Fridays, so we spent the day relaxing, and even watched one of my favorite movies - Thor.

I decided to bake myself a birthday cake, and opted for the cover cake in the latest issue of Better Homes & Gardens--a pink lemonade cake. It is very tasty and very pretty (and very fattening...lots of butter and sugar).

We gave Laurel her first bath in the tub on Friday. And her first naked bathtub picture!
|
Here is Laurel in her little bathrobe. I thought she looked like Rocky.

I love tummy time!

Sarah Williams came over with Ellie and had lunch with us. We held each other's babies for a little bit...until Ellie realized what was going on and got jealous.
