Our friend Jacob brought us some grapes last weekend. They are very sweet and tasty, but have seeds, so a bit labor intensive to eat. I decided to make grape juice. Homemade grape juice is delicious, and is actually pretty easy.
| Half of a 5 gallon bucket of grapes makes 8 quarts of grape juice. |
| After taking all the grapes off the stems and washing them, you fill the jar with grapes. |
| The recipe calls for a 1/2 cup of sugar in each jar, but since the grapes were sweet, I only put 1/4 cup of sugar per jar. |
| Next, you fill the jar with hot water. |
| Put on lids, and boil in a hot water bath for 20 minutes. |
And because I would be remiss not to have a picture of Laurel, here's one of her in the cute outfit she wore to church today. Big poufy on her head. Cute pink chucks on her feet. What a sweetie.
