Today after church I went on a cinnamon sugar cooking spree! First, I whipped up some cinnamon raisin bagels.
| I used the rest of my bread dough that had been fermenting in the fridge. |
| Roll it flat, sprinkle on cinnamon, sugar, and raisins. Then roll it up jelly roll style, and shape it into a ball. |
| Next you cut off 3 oz. pieces, and roll each little piece into a little ball. |
| Poke a hole in the middle of each ball, and stretch them out. Then, let them rise on the counter for about 20 minutes. |
| Bagels get their nice crust from boiling them prior to baking. The boiling water for these bagels also has a little sugar in in, so they get an extra nice crust! |
| After boiling, you set the bagels on a flour dusted towel to let some of the water absorb prior to baking. Then put them on a greased cookie sheet, put them in the oven, and pour about a cup of water into a broiler pan in the bottom of the oven to provide some steam while cooking. |
| Hot out of the oven. Yum! |
While the bagels were baking I also made a little cereal snack mix: cinnamon and sugar, craisins, walnuts, butter, and cereal. Double Yum!
I came out of the kitchen to discover that Scott also is enjoying Laurel's new toy.
