When Laurel was littler, I would put her into her bouncy seat while I showered, and she was content to sit there in the doorway of the bathroom for the duration of my shower. Every once in a while she might cry, but it wasn't a problem.
About a month ago I decided she was too big for the bouncy seat. I set up the pack n play in the living room, and put her into that with some toys while I showered. She was content with the for about 3 days, and then decided it was horrible. She decided that wasn't good, and would scream the entire time I was in the shower.
After that I brought her into the bathroom with some toys, put the garbage can out in the hall, and shut the door. On days when I wanted to bathe her, I would let her sit in the tub while I showered, and then pick her up and wash her. She was content to sit in the bathroom playing while I showered...for about 2 days. Then the crying began again.
Last Monday while I was in the shower and she was in the bathroom, she came over and stood next to the tub, screaming. She pulled the shower curtain out of the tub, which caused water to spill out all over the floor. The she was hanging her head and arms into the tub screaming, and getting herself wet. She tried to pull herself into the tub, but slipped and hit her mouth on the side of the tub, which caused her to bleed all over the tub, and fall backward into the puddle of water on the floor. I was trying to rinse the rest of the conditioner out of my hair and call for Scott at the same time (he was in the office working with the door shut), but he did not hear me. I got out of the shower, wrapped the wet and bleeding baby in a towel, finally got Scott's attention, handed her off, and then was able to finish my own shower.
After that incident, I've decided that Laurel will either sit in the shower with me, or she'll just have to cry in her crib. As you can see from these pictures, that is not a popular choice.
