My cousin Anna grew up in California, went to college in Michigan, and while there met one of my high school classmates, and married him. They now live far away, but sometimes they come to visit his family in Pella, and we get to see them while they are there. Anna and her kids spent a week in Pella not too long ago, and we had lunch with them one day, and went out to a ranger led program at Lake Red Rock, then had a picnic another day.
The program was about raptors. We met by the beach, had a short hike to the "Playscape," then listened to the ranger program about raptors. Then the kids got to take apart owl pellets. Laurel spent most of the time playing, rather than listening to the ranger. My sister and her kids came along as well, and we had a lot of fun!

| O let Laurel poke at her pellet as well. |

| Yes, I put Laurel on the leash for the hike, and Nicolas was in the sling. Laurel is FAST, and she doesn't listen very well, so this is the best way to keep her from running into the woods, into the water, into the road... |
Which classmate?
ReplyDeleteShe married Kevin Zweirs. If I'd posted a picture of their oldest son you would have known ... He looks just like Kevin.
