I see that I have not blogged since the beginning of January. At this point, I can't do a post for everything we did, so this will just be a big summary post. Suffice it to say that we were pretty busy and put a lot of miles on the van!

| One of Laurel's favorite games right now is to get into her toy box or the ottoman and pretend she is fishing, or taking a bath, or on a roller coaster, etc. |
| One of my family members, who shall not be named, gave Laurel markers for Christmas. I usually keep a close eye on her when she is using them, but one day I was a little distracted and this happened. |

| I made a trip to Des Moines to pick someone up at the airport, and had lunch with my former co-workers and ran some errands while there. I had to go to the mall to get our wedding rings inspected, and let the kids play in the play area for a while. |
| We had a day where the weather was in the 50's, so we took a walk to the park |
| We went to Iowa City and spent a day with Scott's sister-in-law and nephew. This is a baby picture of his nephew, and we think Nicolas looks a lot like him! |
| That night we went to a University of Iowa wrestling duel...or, as Laurel calls them, the "wrestling Hawkeyes." The kids did well, although Laurel thought the pep band was too loud! |
| My whole family got together to celebrate Dad's 65th birthday. We had great conversation, and Dad fell asleep on the sofa with my nephew sitting on his shoulders. |
| The last day of January we met my friend Matt at an Iowa Wild hockey game in Des Moines. We didn't realize that Bacon Fest was going on the same day in the same facility, and trying to find a parking spot was insane! But, we made it in, had fun, and Laurel again was not real sure about the loud horn whenever the Wild scored. |
