We had Nicolas dedicated at church on Sunday. (Side note: I am having a grammar conundrum on writing about the dedication of Nicolas. When the name ends in "s," do you just put an apostrophe, or do you put 's? I just can't decide!)
Most of our relatives on both sides of the family joined us at church for the dedication. We took up about 4 whole rows at church! About 12 kids were dedicated Sunday morning.

Nicolas was a little unhappy.
We wanted to invite everyone to have lunch with us, but the only place in town with a room big enough is Pizza Ranch, and we just weren't in the mood. And even though our new house is a little bigger, we didn't think we could fit all 30 or so of us in our house for lunch...and couldn't guarantee that the weather would be nice enough to eat outside. Our church allowed us to eat in the church basement, which was wonderful. I made a giant pot of Mom's Famous Sloppy Joe's, and everyone brought something to share, and we had a great meal!

The Platt nieces and nephews are about the same age as my nieces and nephew, so they were all excited to see each other again (they met at our wedding and have seen each other a few other times). I'm glad they all get along!

I've been talking to Laurel about her birthday and trying to teach her to know how old she is. She was a little surprised when everyone started singing to her, and I had to help her blow out the candle. But, she did like her Dora cake!

Is Nicolas smiling at me? He was apparently smiling at everyone else, but I haven't gotten him to give me a big smile yet.
