A Visit from the Honns

The year after I graduated from college and before I started graduate school, I worked at a dude ranch in Colorado.  While there, I met Lindsay, and we did a lot of hiking together and became good friends.  We have not lived close to each other since, but we have managed to stay in touch, and even visit each other a number of times.  Lindsay and Jesse now live in Pennsylvania, but every other year they take a road trip out to Idaho to visit family, and when they do that, they try to spend a day here with us in Iowa (I'm glad we're en route!).  This year we had nice weather and it didn't even rain while they were here!  They were here on a Sunday, so we all went to church, then after lunch and nap time, we walked over to the park to play.

Amie is about 6 weeks older than Laurel.  We're hoping they will be good friends!

We wanted to take a picture with all 5 kids together.  What a challenge!  Natalee and Amie did just fine, but Brady kept going to the top of the slide, Laurel kept running away, and Nicolas can't really sit yet so we just had to throw him in at the end.  This was the best one we got!

After the park we went back to our house and had supper, then just hung around until we all went to bed.  They left very early the next morning (like 4am, I did not wake up to see them off!), and made it all the way back to PA!

Unfortunately, PA isn't really en route for us for any upcoming trips.  We may have to make it a destination in a few years!  Otherwise, we hope that they will stop by and visit us again in a couple years!
